The schooling landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is for the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product is not the only efficient means of learning. CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Section for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, with regards to their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are presented at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year length.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Requirements

These programs begin at NCV level 2 plus the bare minimum requirement would then be Grade nine certificate with a pass in Mathematics.

The moment the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they might then have attained a grade 10 certification. NCV Level 3 would be grade eleven and NCV Level 4 is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes here start NCV degree 2 which happens to be equivalent to an NQF level two.

On which sort of students are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that traditional education will not be always the sole method of turning out to be an artisan or turning out to be competent so if a student knows from an early age what their pursuits are, the NCV programme is in fact properly suited for that student.
